Rap star Busta Rhymes is being sued by one of his fans, who claims the rapper and his bodyguard “maliciously assaulted” him when he asked for his autograph outside a New York sandwich shop.
Melvin Smith was beaten up by Busta and his guard Troy Green with their "hands and fists for no rhyme or reason," his lawyer claims.
"My client was not aggressive in seeking the autograph," his lawyer added. "Melvin went in to get an autograph and got a knuckle sandwich instead."
Melvin is seeking unspecified damages against Busta and his bodyguard, saying the back and neck injuries he sustained in the incident left him unable to continue his work as a handyman.
This isn't Busta's only legal problem at the moment, he's come under criticism for refusing to speak to police about a shooting which took place at his recent video shoot. His security guard Israel Ramirez was killed in the shoot-out.
