Oops, She's back in the news again! This time it's a super controversial sculpture of Britney Spears – in which she is depicted as life-sized, butt-naked, and crouching on all fours about to push an 8-pound baby out of her va-jay-jay. On a bearskin rug.
Don't blame Britney (or K-Fed) for this one - she didn't pose for the hideous thing. And even though it doesn't look like her, she was the "inspiration" for the artist who labored over it (get it? labored? kill me lol) and who says it's a "tribute" to Britney and motherhood.
"I admire her. This is an idealized figure," artist Daniel Edwards said of his creation. (The Connecticut sculptor told the Associated Press that he's never met the pop singer.)
The artwork, called "Monument To Pro-Life: The Birth Of Sean Preston" shows the singer on all fours with several anti-abortion pamphlets lying next to her. (Pic after the jump.) It's due to go on display April 7 at the Capla Kesting Fine Art Gallery in Brooklyn as part of a pro-life exhibition.
Edwards defended his choice of Spears as the pro-life role model. "When I saw an image of her, I thought she was quite a beautiful pregnant woman. But I also thought that there was something more to all the stories about her. And I figured there must be this pro-life undercurrent," he said.
Gallery co-owner David Kesting confirmed that calls of protest have come in from around the world. "We also got calls from Tokyo, England, France... Some people are upset that Britney is being used for this subject matter. Others who are pro-life thought this was degrading to their movement. And some pro-choice people were upset that this is a pro-life monument."
And the best part? Here's the PRESS RELEASE:
"Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston," believed Pro-Life's first monument to the 'act of giving birth,' is purportedly an idealized depiction of Britney in delivery. Natural aspects of Spears' pregnancy, like lactiferous breasts and protruding naval, compliment a posterior view that depicts widened hips for birthing and reveals the crowning of baby Sean's head..."
"...The monument also acknowledges the pop-diva's pin-up past by showing Spears seductively posed on all fours atop a bearskin rug with back arched, pelvis thrust upward, as she clutches the bear's ears with 'water-retentive' hands."
Oh. My. God. Monument to the 'act of giving birth'? Wait. Didn't she have a C-SECTION?

okay. Let's break this thing down. She CHOSE to have a C-section, so there was no "crowning of Sean Preston's head", nor was she ever in that position, except maybe while she was conceiving SP. And, while I think SP is a beautiful baby, K-Fed is the biggest walking advertisment AGAINST pro-life. E-gads, get out of my gene-pool! I think the artist needs to have his head examined!

I am embarrassed for her, I don't like her, but I am embarrassed for her. The guy is just a dirty, stalking pervert. I would bet if someone cracked that thing open they'd find some of the artists DNA in it. And yeah, the guy does need his head examined, along with anyone who finds this "art" appropriate. I am a young mother and it even makes me uncomfortable. Pro-life my ass!!

This Pro-Life Monument is marvellous...not to say that it's nice..it's meaningful..it shows everyone about the beauty of giving birth to a new life which is a fresh idea..many anti-abortion activities normally show the horror side of abortion but never ever show the beauty side of giving birth which will encourage the others to give birth instead of doing abortion..it is also a correct choice for the artist to use Britney as the model...not to say that she's pretty..that's one of the point too..other than that the rumours,story, and news about her makes it more suitable for her to b the model..for that she is a hot babe..she give birth to a baby at this young age and with a tremendous career she choose not to abort instead to give birth to the baby which is a Wonderful thing..I'll say it's a very brilliant idea... and beautiful art work...Cheers to the artist!!!!!!!!!!!
