Meryl Streep has blasted media reports that teen queen Lindsay Lohan’s wild party lifestyle interferes with her acting career, saying she doesn't care what she gets up to off-screen as she's a great actress.
The veteran actress, who co-stars with Lindsay in "Prairie Home Companion", says the young star is nothing but professional.
She has also revealed she was convinced Lindsay would be perfect to play her daughter in the movie, even before she had met her.
"I think I'd seen [Lindsay‘s film] “Freaky Friday” maybe seven times,” she says.
"I have three daughters, and it's the Lindsay Lohan fan club at my house.
"I'm aware of the tabloid stuff because my kids tell me - but I don't read it, and frankly, I couldn't care less.
"Lindsay knew her lines better than we did.
"When they say 'Action', Lindsay is completely, visibly living in front of the camera, and that's all anybody really cares about."
