"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul was assaulted at a private party in Los Angeles last weekend, police investigating the incident have revealed.
The former pop singer filed a report at the Hollywood police station saying she had been the victim of battery in the early hours of Sunday morning, Lt Paul Vernon says.
"According to Abdul, the man at the party argued with her, grabbed her by the arm and threw her against a wall."
"She said she had sustained a concussion and spinal injuries."
She provided police with the name of the man who assaulted her, he says.
Paula’s publicist, Michelle Bega, has failed to comment on the incident.
Last week, the star inked a deal to stay judging on "American Idol", alongside Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, for another three years.
